Snow Advisory for Wyoming
Storm will bring snow and wind

The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a Snow Advisory for western Wyoming through noon Monday. A High Wind Warning is in effect for Sweetwater County.
A strong winter weather system and cold front will move into Wyoming on Monday bringing 3-6 inches of snow to the Upper Green River Valley and 6-8 inches of snow in the mountains during the morning.
Wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are possible in the Pinedale area. To the south in Sweetwater County and for those traveling I-80, wind gusts of up to 65 mph may occur. The wind, combined with falling snow, will produce blowing and drifting snow conditions in open areas. Travelers should be prepared to expect winter driving conditions, limited visibility at times, and slick snow-covered roads to develop. Drivers can also expect to see patchy dense fog developing in the late night and morning hours, especially near water drainages and low valleys. Under certain conditions, drivers may encounter freezing fog on windshields.
The storm system and cold front are expected to move south across Wyoming through Monday evening. This storm is expected to bring some of the coldest temperatures we have yet seen for the season, with the thermometer dropping to around zero degrees in many areas of western Wyoming.
Once the storm has passed, the forecast is for sunny weather with temperatures climbing into the 50s and 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday this week, with clouds and possible snow moving in again for the weekend.
