Dramatic change in the weather
Snow Advisory for Wind River, Wyoming, Salt and Teton Ranges
September 15, 2006
A vigorous storm system located over the Pacific Northwest will continue to spread showers and thunderstorms across the area. Gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall, along with lightning and hail are all in the weather outlook for the next couple of days.
Colder air will filter into western and central Wyoming helping to lower the snow levels. A Snow Advisory has been posted for the Wind River, Wyoming, Salt and Teton ranges. Snowfall of 4-8 inches is expected in mountains and light snow is possible in the Upper Green River Basin.
Temperatures in the 40s and 50s will be common across the lower elevations, dropping to the 30s and 40s in the mountains.
Anyone with outdoor plans through the weekend should e prepared for a major change to cold, windy and snowy weather, especially in the mountains.
