(Rock Springs, Wyoming) - The prime contractor for the Rock Springs Marginal, Pilot Butte/Dewar Drive sections has arrived and begun preparatory work for the upcoming reconstruction project on Interstate 80.
The portion of roadway to be affected during 2007 will be from milepost 101 to milepost 108 in the eastbound lane of I-80, with the majority of work taking place at the Pilot Butte Interchange (Exit 107).
Reconstruction of the Dewar Drive Interchange area and the westbound lane of the interstate will take place in 2008.
Wyoming Department of Transportation officials say now is a good time for local motorists to plan alternative routes to local destinations to prevent driver frustration in the construction zones once the mainline work begins.
