The Victoria Times Colonist newspaper in British Columbia reported earlier this week that a kayaker had to fight off a wolf intent on having him as prey on the remote North Coast.
The article, written by a CanWest News Service reporter, noted that the 31-year old kayaker was busy setting up his tent on the beach when the female wolf attacked.
The kayaker fought the wolf, even dragging the fighting duo to his kayak where he retrieved a knife and repeatedly stabbed the animal.
After the animal fled, the kayaker called for help on a radio. He was rescued by resort workers who also shot and killed the wolf.
