Starting Sunday morning, 6-12 inches of snow possible by Monday morning

According to the National Weather Service, a fast-moving low pressure system will bring steady snowfall to most of western Wyoming starting Sunday morning. The snow could become heavy at times on Sunday. Six to twelve inches of new snow could accumulate in the mountains by the early hours of Monday. The Upper Green River Valley, including the towns of Pinedale, Big Piney, Farson and LaBarge could see two to four inches of snow or more. Strong westerly winds could create blowing and drifting snow. Westerly winds will back to the south overnight at 10 to 15 miles per hour before veering to the southwest and increasing to 25 to 35 during the height of the storm. Expect overnight lows in the mountains to be near 10 before rising into the low 20s on Sunday.
A Snow Advisory is in effect from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM Sunday for the following areas: Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains Wind River Mountains West Salt River and Wyoming Ranges Upper Green River Basin Foothills Upper Green River Basin
A Snow Advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
