Local photographer Dave Bell and wife Peggy headed south on Sunday to the LaBarge area (about 20 miles south of Big Piney) and then into the desert bluffs east of the Green River, into Bird Canyon vicinity.

"The desert is a stark contrast to our beautiful mountains, but just as beautiful with its sweeping vistas and colorful buttes and rocks," Dave said.
