Update, Friday, Feb. 25: The Big Piney Ranger District office is cleaned up and open for regular business hours. ___________________________________ Thursday, Feb. 24 report:
The Big Piney Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest will be closed Thursday, February 24, 2011 as workers continue clean up operations in the Ranger District office. The office was closed on Wednesday, February 23 as workers attempted to repair a pipe that froze and affected the building. The Ranger District office will be open again to serve the public as soon as repairs and cleanup has been completed.
Employees discovered that over the President’s Day weekend a pipe carrying sewage and gray water had frozen and spilled the unsanitary water into the building. "There is still some additional clean up that needs to be completed," said Big Piney District Ranger Kurt Davis.
Public looking for assistance in the Big Piney area may call the Bridger-Teton at 307-739-5500, or visit the Pinedale Ranger District located 40-minutes from Big Piney in the town of Pinedale.
