Governor Mead selects Dr. Steve Corsi to lead Department of Family Services

On Friday February 18th, 2011 Governor Matt Mead announced the appointment of Dr. Steve Corsi as the new Director of the Department of Family Services.
For the past two and ½ years Dr. Corsi has been the Executive Director of High Country Behavioral Health. Under his leadership the organization has improved and enhanced services to stakeholders throughout the Lincoln and Sublette County service area. On January 1st, 2011 High Country was awarded contracts in Uinta County to begin providing mental health, crisis stabilization and residential outpatient treatment services. Prior to the actual contract date High Country began providing outpatient mental health services to Uinta County residents on November 15th, 2010.
The new contracts in Uinta County and the new staff that have been hired to provide the necessary services have increased the company employee size and revenue streams by nearly 100%. High Country Board of Directors President Mr. Ron Meeks, stated "I am very excited and honored that we have had our Executive Director chosen for such an instrumental position in Wyoming State Government. This appointment demonstrates the hard work and dedication that Steve has for the people of Wyoming and more importantly the people of Sublette, Lincoln and Uinta Counties."
In accordance with the companies succession planning procedures the Board of Directors has appointed Carl J Harris, who is currently the Operations Manager, as the interim Executive Director.
High Country Behavioral Health is a private nonprofit organization with offices in Lincoln, Sublette, & Uinta Counties. In addition to the mental health services offered High Country is also certified by the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) for adult and adolescent treatment of outpatient substance use disorders, early intervention, DUI education, and adult Intensive outpatient services. High Country is also a CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited organization.
