Election Results – Big Piney and Marbleton Municipal elections

Big Piney held their municipal elections on Tuesday, May 10th. Marbleton held their municipal elections on Tuesday, May 3rd. Below are the results.
BIG PINEY Big Piney voted to fill two, 4-year Councilperson positions formerly held by Ben Jenkins and Kevin Walton. Ben Jenkins was on the ballot and campaigned to retain his seat. Jenkins received the most votes in the election, 41, retaining his seat on the Council. There were no candidates for the second Councilperson seat. Sixteen people received votes as write-in candidates, including former Councilperson Kevin Walton. Walton tied with Ted Kelly for the most write-in votes, each receiving 4. Kelly was disqualified, however, because he does not live within the town limits. One of the requirements to serve on the Big Piney town council is that the candidate must live within the incorporated town limits. Walton agreed to return to his seat on the Council.

MARBLETON Marbleton held their municipal election on Tuesday, May 3rd to elect two town Councilpersons for 4-year terms. Candidates Gary Shepard and Sue Hoefer won in this election, getting 52 and 51 votes, respectively. Shepard takes the seat over from outgoing member Bob Beiermann. There were five write-in candidate votes submitted by voters.
