A Pinedale native begins June 1 as the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service (UW CES) rangeland resources educator for southeast Wyoming based in Carbon County.
Mae Smith is a 2004 graduate of Pinedale High School and daughter of Eric and Adrianne Peterson. She graduated in May from Colorado State University with a master’s degree in rangeland ecosystem science. She received her bachelor’s degree in rangeland ecology and watershed management from UW in May 2008.
Eric Peterson is retiring from the UW CES following 32 years of service.
"She starts June 1, and I retire June 3," said Peterson. "We’ll overlap three days!"
In addition to Carbon County, Smith will provide programming in Albany, Goshen, Laramie and Platte counties.
