October 24, 2011
The National Weather Service advises that a strong cold front will move into northern and central Wyoming Monday night bringing sharply colder temperatures and light precipitation. Temperatures may plummet 20 to 30 degrees colder. A few inches of snow will be possible along the Interstate 80 corridor and surrounding mountains Tuesday and Wednesday. One to three inches are possible in the lower elevations and 3 to 6 inches in the mountains. Windy areas could experience blowing and drifting snow. Travel could become hazardous in some areas, especially Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, with blowing snow causing severely reduced visibility, especially over mountain passes. The track of this anticipated storm is still a bit uncertain. Stay tuned for further weather updates.
