Bitter cold temperatures arrive

Temperatures early this morning (Monday, January 14) are already 20 to 30 degrees below zero across the Upper Green River Basin with a few locations already as cold as 30 to 35 below.
The following are some of the coldest spots around the Upper Green River Basin as of 2 am Monday (Jan. 14) morning.
9 E Big Piney, 1:00 am January 14, -34 F 7 NE Pinedale, 12:26 am January 14, -33 F Pinedale Airport, 1:15 am January 14, -31 F Marbleton, 1:47 am January 14, -30 F 21 W Big Piney, 1:09 am January 14, -30 F
There could be a few locations that will get as cold as 40 below zero by sunrise. Frostbite can occur in as little as 5 minutes at these bitter cold temperatures. The most susceptible parts of the body are the extremities, such as fingers, toes, ear lobes, or the tip of the nose. If you must go outside, dress in several layers of loose fitting, light weight, warm clothing.
