Death Notice: Randall Strand

On July 6th at approximately 4:00 p.m. the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a deceased subject in the Wind River Mountains near Spruce Lake. The call came from a wrangler employed by a local outfitter.
Search and Rescue members and medical personnel were flown by helicopter to the scene. The male subject has been identified as 71 year old Randall Strand of Bountiful, Utah. A detective from the SCSO was flown to the site and preliminary investigation indicates the cause of death to be accidental. Mr. Strand’s family confirmed he was camping and horse packing in the mountains, his camp was found nearby.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office extends it condolences to the family of Mr. Strand.
