Wyoming wildfire update

Wildfire Update: 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2013
There are a couple of active wildfires burning in Wyoming; however, they are not impacting travel. Visitors would only be affected if they were planning on camping or visiting the area directly adjacent to either of these fires. We have provided visitor information for lodging and activities in these areas. Homestead Fire: Shoshone National Forest, near Lander - There is a fire burning southwest of Lander near Homestead Park in Sinks Canyon. The U.S. Forest Service has evacuated the Homestead Park community and Lower Sinks Canyon subdivisions. USFS campgrounds up to the trail head at Bruce's parking lot have been evacuated. West Battle Creek Fire: Medicine Bow National Forest, two miles west of Huston Park Wilderness boundary and one mile south of Hwy 70 - Recreationists from the Lost Creek Campground as well as Baby Lakes Trailhead dispersed camping area have been evacuated. There are no other fires impacting travel across Wyoming at this time. As always, we recommend that you check weather and road conditions prior to your trip.
