December 4, 2013
Wednesday, Dec. 4, 8:30 AM report: Kelly Park, Old Road Trail, Lower & Upper Surveyor, Flatline and Tree Loop were all been groomed yesterday for skiing – we got a little more snow overnight. There is about two feet of snow at White Pine/Surveyor Park, less at the Nordic building-about a foot or so. Kelly Tie-in is groomed, but coverage is thin – use extreme caution on this portion of trail. Skyline Drive and the White Pine parking lot are plowed. The main road in is paved, but is steep, narrow and windy in places, and can be slick in spots. There is lots of wildlife around (deer and moose) and on/near the road, use caution driving. Please keep dogs under control at all times on the trails and clean up your pet’s droppings off the trails. It is cold, below zero. Get your skis out and bundle up! ______________________________________________
Editor's Note: White Pine opens for the winter ski/snowboard season this Friday, Dec. 6th, so expect more traffic both ways on the road once the ski area opens. The lodge will be open during the days on weekends and they will have food service available from 11AM to 3PM.
