Phyllis was born March 5, 1929, in Osmond, Nebraska to Carl and Anne Boye'. In 1941 she moved with her family to Gold Hill, Oregon, where they lived for many years and where she attended school, became a very good tennis player and loved her horses. She rode most every day. She loved to be outdoors.
Later she worked for a lumber broker while living on the San Juan Islands. She enjoyed clamming, crabbing and all that an island in the Pacific has to offer. She made many places her home before arriving in Wyoming.
Phyllis arrived in Jackson in 1965 where she lived and worked at the Triangle X Guest Ranch. Here she met her lifelong friend Dr. Jean Pearson. Here they spent time riding horses, going on pack trips, fishing, and snow machining, visiting neighbors and feeding the wildlife. Two common visitors at Sky Mountain Ranch were an elderly moose named Madonna and Buddy the Badger.
Phyllis and Jean contributed funding to help build the Rock Springs (Red Desert) Humane Society and helped numerous other animal rescues in their lifetime. Because of Phyllis' love of animals and generosity, she was a continuing supporter of Red Desert Humane Society, and The Animal Adoption Center in Jackson. Throughout her life she was surrounded by animals, both wild and tame. Phyllis is preceded in death by her friend Jean Pearson; brother George Boye’, and her parents Carl and Anne Boye’.
She is survived by her brother Bill Boye’, his wife Carol and their children; sister-in-law Beverly Elzig; niece Kathy Kopfer and her husband Kurt; many friends in Pinedale and Bondurant, Wyoming, and her beloved cat Gypsy.
