Town of Pinedale update
by Pinedale Mayor Bob Jones
March 11, 2015
Hi Pinedale, this is Bob Jones with another town update. As you know we have been enjoying some great warm weather lately. I hate to say it, but winter is not over yet. The town has received more frozen water and sewer line freeze-up calls in the last couple of weeks than we have received all season. Even though the daytime temperatures have been well above freezing, it is still well below freezing at night. Most importantly, the ground is still frozen and will be for some time. The bottom line is, PLEASE keep bleeding your water lines to help to prevent freeze-ups.
We have also received several calls asking when we are going to pick up the sand on the roads. The sand is a result of our sanding and salting during and after snow storms. The sand and salt that's on the roads helps when we get another snow storm. It helps provide traction and it promotes melting. This reduces the amount of new sand and salt we need to put down and ultimately pick up. Obviously this saves the town money. That said, if there is an area in town that has an unsafe condition because of excess sand, please call town hall and let us know so we can pick it up. We plan to start sweeping all the streets the first part of April.
We hope to start the sewer and water replacement project known as phase 7 in the middle of April. This project will start at Pine Street and Fremont and go North to Hennick. It will include the area one block west and east of Fremont. If you have any questions about this project please stop by town hall and we will try to answer your questions. I plan to have public meetings as required as we progress through this project. I apologize for any inconvenience this project may cause you, but it really needs to be done.
Thanks for your time and have a great day.
