BLM fighting wildfire northeast of Pinedale

PINEDALE, WYOMING, August 13, 2018 – Wildland fire fighters from the High Desert District and Pinedale Field Office along with fire crews from Sublette County and the U.S. Forest Service have contained the Old Dump fire burning 2-miles northeast of Pinedale, Wyoming. The 37-acre afire is burning in Sage-grouse habitat near power lines and fences in the area.
The Old Dump fire is burning near Osprey Road and the public is urged to use caution or avoid the area since fire behavior can change due to high winds and other weather conditions. Currently there are no evacuations in place, no residential structures at risk, and no injuries reported due to the fire. Although the fire is 100% contained, two BLM engines will remain to patrol the fire and ensure fire lines remain in place.
