Forrest Fenn passes away at age 90
September 9, 2020
Forrest Fenn, who gained fame for hiding a treasure chest filled with gold, jewels and other valuables, died of natural causes on Monday, September 7th at his home in New Mexico. Fenn was 90 years old. He was also an antiquities dealer and an author. His book, "The Thrill of the Chase," gave clues to where he had hidden his treasure chest somewhere in the Rocky Mountain West. For over a decade, countless people went on outdoor adventures looking for the chest, following the clues in a cryptic poem he had written to help guide seekers. Earlier this year, someone came forward claiming to have found the chest, which was confirmed by Fenn. The name of the searcher and location of where the chest was found were not revealed, other than to say it was found somewhere in Wyoming.
