PINEDALE, WYOMING — Sublette County Health has released a call for artists to fill the new facility with artwork before the doors open on July 1, 2025.
The Sublette County Health Foundation (SCHF) Art Committee strongly believes in supporting Wyoming and regional artists with real-world public arts opportunities. SCHF is interested in artwork which is focused on Sublette County and the theme "Heart, Art and Healing."
The Art Committee is composed of local artists David K. Klaren, Delsa Allen, Dave Bell and George Kahrl. Delsa Allen notes, "This is a community facility and we wanted the artwork to reflect that community spirit." The new facility will be 88,000 sq feet total, with special areas dedicated for artwork.
To this end, the SCHF is commissioning artwork to be installed on the Hospital Art Wall and Skilled Nursing Art Wall for a period of one (1) year (from June 2025 to June 2026), or to be installed in 10 other spaces throughout the facility for 18 months (from June 2025 to Nov 2026). At the conclusion of the exhibition period, the artist retains the artwork he or she has created.
The SCHF may inquire about purchasing said artwork for their permanent collection.
Board Chair Tonia Hoffman noted, "I’m thrilled for the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing artistic talent we have in Sublette County and would encourage everyone interested to apply."
Submissions are due February 21, with artist selection being completed by April 1st and the artwork hung and installed prior to the July 1 opening. The Art Committee has developed guidelines for appropriate art content in healthcare settings which are listed on the website.
To apply, applicants must be a resident of Wyoming. Of the 12 art locations, two locations will give preference to Sublette County artists. The artist will be paid a stipend of 50% of the value of the work (up to $500) for use of their artwork for the appointed period.
